What Is a Photostability Test Chamber

Photostability test chambers are specially designed with international standards for the pharmaceutical industry. Yatherm photostability test chamber units follow WHO guidelines, FDA Standards and ICH standards. The name itself tells you the job: a chamber performing with lights and UV lights testing, using fluorescent illumination to check how a drug, tablet, or packaging material holds up under exposure. Our walk-in stability test chamber range is built with rustproof thick steel grade 304, high-quality illumination lights, and a humidity system with digital humidity controller.

We are one of the reputed test chamber manufacturers in India with timely delivery and genuine after-sales support. Sales support matters a lot in this field, mainly because a photostability chamber runs continuously for weeks at a stretch, not just for a quick spot test.

Photo Stability Chamber Manufacturer in India: Serving Mumbai, Ambernath, Kalyan and Beyond

Yatherm has been manufacturing test chambers since 2005, with experienced engineers handling the humidity and temperature precision work in-house. We manufacture and deliver made in India equipment worldwide for pharmaceutical industries, and a good share of that demand comes from Maharashtra's pharma belt: Mumbai, Ambernath, Kalyan, and the surrounding industrial clusters where formulation and API units run continuous stability studies.

If you're searching for a photo stability chamber manufacturer in India, or looking at a supplier closer to your plant in Mumbai, Ambernath, or Kalyan, the core requirement doesn't change: ICH Q1B compliance, DIN sensor accuracy, and a chamber that won't drift over a 30, 45, or 90 day continuous run. We build to that requirement regardless of order size, and we ship pan-India as well as to MEA, Asia, Europe, and America as a photo stability chamber exporter.

Illumination, ICH Q1B Compliance and Controlling System

Illumination is the single most important factor in photostability testing, and it's where a lot of cheaper chambers cut corners. Our photostability test chambers are fully compliant with ICH guidelines Q1B option 2, which lays out the illumination testing procedure in detail: exposure to both visible and near-UV light in defined ratios, not just "a bright bulb." We use fluorescent LED milky white light delivering 4 million lux hours, plus UV lights for proper exposure inside the working test chamber. The programmable controller manages both light sources independently, including power load, so you're not guessing whether the UV dose actually matched your protocol.

On the control side, our test chambers come with 4 to 7 inch HMI with PLC operation for controlling light, temperature, timer, and humidity together. For economy models, Yatherm offers a microprocessor-based PID controller paired with quality sensors instead of the full PLC setup. Either way, the temperature and humidity readings run through DIN sensors, Class A sensors that act as master references so the controller isn't working off a cheap secondary probe. The PLC with HMI also comes with three layers of password protection, and the chamber door itself has a lock key, which matters when a validated study is running and you can't have someone opening the door mid-cycle.

Construction and Humidity Generation

We follow set standards for every chamber that leaves our factory. The body is rustproof stainless steel 304 grade with curved corners for easier cleaning, since a pharma-grade chamber needs to pass cleaning validation too, not just perform on paper. Yatherm offers SS304 and SS316 construction for the inner and outer chamber, paired with an eco-friendly HCFC-free cooling system. Double-walled construction with 80 to 100 mm PUF insulation keeps cooling, heating, and humidity from leaking out of the chamber, and the whole unit sits on 4 lockable caster wheels for mobility within the lab.

Humidity generation runs through an inbuilt SS 304 small chamber with low water cut-off protection, an ISI mark SS 316 water heater for uniform heating, plus a water input valve and water drain valve. The reservoir sits inside the chamber itself for accurate humidity control across both high and low humidity operations, and the ISI mark u-shaped water heaters are built for a long service life without losing generation power. If humidity control is the main thing on your checklist, it's worth also looking at our dedicated humidity test chamber range for applications that don't need the light-exposure element.

Models, Capacity and Who Uses It

Yatherm offers standard models ranging from 200 litres to 2000 litres capacity, and we have the in-house expertise to build customized equipment for larger or non-standard requirements. Research organizations developing a new molecule rely on these chambers to run ICH Q1B option 2 testing during early formulation work, while pharma manufacturers use them for ongoing regulatory stability filings. Our stability test chambers carry CE and GMP compliance at competitive Indian pricing, whether you're a lab in Mumbai sourcing locally or an international buyer working through us as your photostability chamber exporter.
