WHAT IS FREEZE-DRYING?
Freeze-drying is the process of dehydration by sublimation, in this process the water contained in the products that are being freeze-dried passes directly from the solid to the gaseous state – without going through the liquid state. The main advantage of freeze-drying over conventional dehydration (by heating) is the maintenance of all the characteristics and properties, physical and nutritional structures of the product, that is, only the water is removed, which is why it is called the noble dehydration process.
Freeze-dried products can be preserved and stored without the need for any type of preservatives or low temperature, just add water and it will have all its characteristics untouched. To freeze-dry any product, it is necessary to develop a Freeze-drying Protocol that varies according to its composition and its molecular structure. The process in general terms is easy to understand, first, the product is frozen until the water in it is completely frozen (matured), then the product is placed in a vacuum chamber until the water is sublime, that is, go from solid state directly to gas. Depending on the case, it is possible to add heating in the equipment controlled by Auto-PID to speed up the process.

Chamber
Pilot model freeze dryer chambers are rectangular in shape equipped with SS 304 removable shelves, plexi glass door & contact parts made up of ss316. Shelves has a temperature range of -60°C to +70°C ±1°C & Fast cooling function ranges +20℃ to -40℃ within an hour. This chamber has pre-freezing, & vacuum drying in same chamber without any human assistance.
For pharmaceutical industry and bio field applications oil circulation type heating is preferred in place of electric heating. Oil circulation type heating is more accurate, precisely control & as per the Pharmaceutical standards. Shelves heating rate (Ramp rate) can be controlled by PLC that provides a safe voltage system & uniform temperature for samples. Cross type of walls are designed according to the GMP standards.
Condenser (cold trap)
We design large capacity condenser made up of stainless steel 316 grade for pharmaceutical freeze dryers. Lowest condenser range of temperature is -80 degree Celsius with silicon oil based machine, where electric heating system has lowest temperature range -55 degree Celsius. Cold trap systems are cylindrical in shape, has independent function with ice removal capacity to ensure great working performance. Chambers condenser’s has innovative gas diversion technology, ice catching feature & electric heating.
Refrigeration System
Pharmaceutical freeze dryers operates at -86 degree Celsius, achieving -86 degree Celsius temperature possible with dual stage cooling technology. We prefer hermetic sealed, CFC free, environmental friendly Tecumseh & Danfoss compressor. These compressors has power full cooling, low noise, economic, highly stable & less power consumption. Our refrigeration system has Brazed plated heat exchanger, Danfoss brand pressure controller & valve. Air cooled refrigeration systems are easy to operate, accurate and work without additional cooling device in room.
Control System
Yatherm Pharma Lyophilizers has 7 inches and 10 inches HMI with PLC that works in automatic , semi-automatic and manual modes. Two stage automatic adjustable rotary vane vacuum pump has ultimate vacuum capacity that can reach to 1 pascal in order to achieve highest level of drying.
